Beginning in 2014, in the living room of our drummer Charles’ home, SouthWesTerminal was formed. SouthWesTerminal’s debut album combines elements of Jazz, Southern HipHop, R&B, Funk, and Soul to create a unique musical experience.
The album features 8 songs that range from the groovy feel-good song “HWY 138” to “Age Of Innocence” - a song that highlights human rights and self-consciousness.
A highlight of the album is the R&B inspired song “How It Feels” which features neo-soul legend Musiq Soulchild. The album is concluded with the band’s debut single “Time Traveler” which takes the listener through time and ends by poet Hannah reminding us that love is life’s defining denominator that transcends all time.
SOUTHWESTERMINAL was birthed to showcase a new sound through compositions influenced by various musical genres. SouthWesTerminal
hails from Atlanta, GA, which has produced some of the world’s most formidable artists (OutKast, John Meyer, Gladys Knight, Ludacris, T.I. etc.). From the musical minds of keyboardist Jalon Smith (keyboardist for Keith Sweat, Angie Stone and Paul S. Morton), guitarist Rod Harris Jr (guitarist for Musiq Soulchild; Syleena Johnson; jazz trumpeter Russell Gunn), drummer Charles Chaffer (drummer for Grammy winning R&B artist “The Dream”) and bassist Jermaine Hall, comes a soul-stirring, thought- provoking musical work.
