Daz-I-Kue, Julius Speed & Khari Cabral Simmons
5 years ago, the Atlanta music scene began to reignite with an influx of great talent. Often touted as the best place on Earth for soul music, it was obvious the next soul stars would be rising. That is also the time when 3 unique musicians came together to form a production team that could help launch these emerging and established artists.
Daz I-Kue made his way to Atlanta, hearing about all the magic happening in the Phoenix City!
That’s where he met Khari Cabral Simmons (India.Arie/Jiva) and Julius Speed (Ananda Project). All lauded writers and producers in their own right, these three found a common theme in their core influences. This included pop, soul, disco ,jazz and funk from the years 1978-83. Deciding to modernize this sound for today, while keeping signature components of the sound.
They spent the years producing and remixing for a variety of artists including Omar, Soul II Soul, FDeluxe (originally the Prince protege band The Family), Anthony David, Angela Johnson and many more. While doing so much music for these artists, Edgewood Agents also set out on recording their own material featuring some of their favorite singers and musicians.
